Sorry for the mass email - I am hoping to spread the word about this as quickly as
possible..



A short (ok, more like cliff notes version - not really short - but not as long as
the original) personal message before the details below..for anyone who has talked
to me over the last two days - this is old news, as I have been going on and on
incessantly about it from concept to reality...



ANYWAY...Most of you know, that in 2004 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
The first year was terrible - oh who am I kidding - the whole thing is rather rancid
- but we are blessed with a fantastic support network of friends, family & neighbors
(you); along with a generally mild disease course.



SO, on Monday night, after seeing a flyer for a Washington Capitals game in support
of Juvenile Diabetes that I forwarded on to our neighborhood (in honor of a very
brave girl Riley Trainor), my sweet, loving and ever so patient husband suggested
that I try to do the same for Multiple Sclerosis. With only 6 home games left in
the season - Ralph suggested that I wait until next season..HA HA HA - did you hear
that - me? wait? - Once the laughter subsided, he put me in touch with someone on
the board at NMSS in DC who was not only able to point me in the right direction,
but did it at the speed of light (for the curious - that would be about 6 hours).
In the meantime I googled to make sure that this type of event hasn't already
happened and proceeded to become a pest with a group sales manager I know at the
Caps. He assured me that we could get it done. The next day was a bit of a blur of
phone calls, emails and content approval...to where we have now arrived. Less than
48 hours later, the web page is up - and not one, but TWO games are being sold with
a portion of the proceeds being donated directly to NMSS. On to step two.



Marketing.



The only thing that makes this successful is if we get the word out. Forward this
email to your friends and family. Print the PDF and hang it on a bulletin board.
Post the info on myspace. Put the purchase URL in your signature. Leave it on your
voicemail. I know there are a fair amount of people on this list that like hockey -
as well as a few that have a vested interest in finding a cure for MS. Let's do
this.



Gather up your family, pick a game and watch some hockey - all while raising money
for a great cause. We will be at the game on the 7th - hope to see you there.
